The Challenge:
A customer required a raw water strainer for a water treatment plant. The strainer would be located in a remote location so they were looking for something automatic. This strainer also had to be corrosion resistant and meet specific flow and pressure drop requirements.
The Process:
Our team makes many standard strainers, but not often for this size. Using a carbon steel construction, and an internal and external epoxy coating for corrosion resistance, Tate Andale engineers designed and fabricated this strainer in accordance with ASME section 8 division 1. Our engineers ran calculations to ensure it would satisfy flow and pressure drop requirements. Our weld shop was more than capable of handling this slightly larger project in-house.
The Final Product:
This 24 ” Model KBF strainer was created and installed in the customer’s treatment plant.
