High Pressure Strainer

The Challenge:

A customer required a strainer that would meet a very specific set of requirements.  This strainer needed to be designed for severe duty service for use in a high pressure firefighting system in a highly combustible environment. It would have to be designed from the ground up to meet specific envelope dimensions and flow characteristics.

The Process:

Our team developed a fabricated simplex strainer built from 316 stainless steel simplex for corrosion resistance.  The vessel was designed in accordance with ASME section VIII, Division 1 rules for 1250 PSIG service. Our engineers ran calculations to ensure it would satisfy flow and pressure drop requirements.  Our highly capable weld shop and quality management team easily managed the fabrication of the product, the third-party ASME U-stamp approval, and the registration of the product with the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors.

The Finished Product:

The Tate Andale team provided the client with stainless steel simplex strainers that satisfied all their requirements.
