The Challenge:
A customer came to us looking for an automatic strainer that would meet a very specific set of requirements for an eight inch pipeline. The strainer needed to be designed for a specific envelop and satisfy flow characteristics and pressure drop requirements. It would have to be designed from the ground up to meet the envelope dimensions.
The Process:
We explored a number of variations to produce the best product for this customer. Models were created and tested to verify and validate that it would meet all engineering demands of this project. The controls panel and valve operators were tested to ensure proper sequencing and seat tightness. The entire assembly was pressure tested to ensure it was safe and functional.
The Finished Product:
